ZAMRI BIN ISMAIL joined PETRONAS in 1981 and retired in 2015 as a Technical Administrator in the Petroleum Management Unit. After his retirement, PETRONAS appointed him as a contract staff for another 2 years. During his 34 years of service, he undertook diverse roles in the Petroleum Management Unit. Apart from that, he actively participated in the employee/labour movement, serving as the Vice President of KAPENAS.
In 1993, he was appointed as a KOPETRO Board Member and has held various pivotal positions such as Secretary, Internal Auditor Committee, and Chairman of several KOPETRO subsidiaries at various intervals. He has also acted as the acting CEO while waiting for a new successor.
His involvement in cooperatives extends globally, as he has participated in cooperative conferences at national, ASEAN, and international levels. Recognizing his profound experience in cooperatives, he was appointed as an Advisory Panel for the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative, and Consumer Affairs on cooperative issues.
