COMPANY PROFILE

Koperasi Kakitangan PETRONAS Berhad (KOPETRO) was established on 30th October 1980. Granted with an allocation of RM ten thousand and a team seconded by the PETRONAS Personnel Department, it was tasked to launch and to maintain a cooperative that provides financial aid to its members.

KOPETRO has since evolved to be one of the Top 10 Cooperatives amongst more than 13,000 cooperatives in Malaysia. Over the years,it has won many prestigious awards such as the Anugerah Koperasi Negara, Prime Minister’s Quality Award, Outstanding Vendor Award (OVA), Top Insurance Agency Award, MAS/Emirates Achievement Award and Intellectual Property Gold Award.

Today, our cooperative is often visited by other local and international cooperatives which want to learn from us about corporate governance. Our members can now choose from various shariah-compliant financing solutions to match their needs and lifestyles. Apart from providing financial assistance, we also provide members with ways to sustain and to expand their wealth.

Our members can benefit from the KOPETRO membership services and privileges while our staff gain from the employment opportunity, our customers from our offers and promotions, and our business partners from the shared business opportunities. Through the years, we have ventured into various industries from food & beverage, to travel & tours, oil & gas and to property and hospitality.We started with eight employees and we now employ over 600 people with offices and operations throughout Malaysia.

In line with our aspiration to be the leading cooperative in the country, our logo epitomizes a harmonious combination of strong and modern elements. Its shape represents a breakdown of the underlying nature of the cooperative’s business, which is aimed at protecting the interests of its members.

The new fresh outlook is also seen to be more fitting with the cooperative’s image in which reflects its pursuit to drive the brand name towards a further business expansion and a global recognition through collaborative efforts and professionalism while being geared towards a sustainable business growth in parallel with the ever-changing global business environment.
